Archangel Michael
- The most powerful of the archangels, and thus the one who has most often faced Luce. Despite this, he was outnumbered and overpowered by Luce and his devils, leading to his imprisonment in the Nightmare Sand Pit for almost two centuries. Since he was freed in 2009 following Isaac's blood ritual, he's taken on a human form and has started working with the BSA in order to keep an eye on any further moves Luce tries to make, to watch the development of the Cael, and to research the true nature of Classification Unknown entities.
James & Kayleigh Hawthorne
- Isaac's adoptive parents who were life-long Diane residents until 2009. James worked as a lobbyist who advocated for the local farmers, while Kayleigh was a stay-at-home mom. They both genuinely love their son, even if they don't understand him or the type of life he wants to lead. At the same time, they have been somewhat neglectful towards Isaac, especially during his later teenage years under the guise of supporting his independence. Following their evacuation, Kayleigh has started teaching yoga classes while James became an accountant.
Officer Andrew Peters
- He was a rookie officer who was mentored by Jessie Simmons. He was pressured into joining the force by his veteran father, but he was never cut out for emergency response work. Between constantly facing dangerous situations, and learning of the possibility of devils existing, he was verging on a nervous breakdown by the time of the Atkin House Incident. Following his death at Luce's hands, he took on a parental role for Rachel in the Nightmare Sand Pit. Thankfully, his soul was able to move on following the Nightmare Sand Pit's destruction.
Zeke Swanson
- Zeke was the host of an independent radio show that began in the very late 80's. His show was similar to something like Coast to Coast, though Zeke was more focused on cryptids (especially devils) than aliens or government conspiracies. He became a leading source regarding devils in Nox, and later the entire southeast Iowa region, since he would take calls and home video from those who claimed to have encountered devils. He teamed up with Jessie Simmons following the Atkin House Incident and her retirement to figure out the true nature of devils. Unfortunately, he came too close to the truth in early 2009, resulting in Luce killing him.
Marilyn & Joe Atkin
- Joshua's parents, who were considered black sheep by the Atkin family. This was especially the case for Marilyn, since she wasn't anywhere near as religious as Joe's deeply fundamentalist parents and 7 other siblings. This was made even worse by the fact that Joshua wasn't an intended pregnancy, resulting in Marilyn and Joe having to rush into marriage to appease his family. Even so, they wanted to be good parents for Joshua. However, they never got to watch their son grow up once Cairyx and Luce attacked. Joe was first to be killed, having been completely taken by surprise. Marilyn did her best to fight back to protect her real son, but Luce took care of both of them.
Rachel Milton
- She was Leah's little sister, who was an imaginative yet socially awkward kid. She discovered an "imaginary friend" named Mr. Hatty at 5 years old, leading to even more isolation from her peers who thought she was schizophrenic. She luckily had the support of her sister, as well as that of Leah's friends - Madeline and Amir. Unfortunately, Rachel was killed by a Bestian devil in order to drive the Miltons away from St. Michael's church. In the Nightmare Sand Pit, she discovered she could contact her sister in dreams, and used this ability to stay by Leah's side and soothe her guilt over Rachel's death. Rachel was finally able to move on and give Leah peace when the Nightmare Sand Pit was destroyed.
Amir Karimi
- Amir is a childhood friend of Leah's. He's older than her by 3 years. They first met because they both attended St. Michael's church. Amir was once the type of person who always tried to break tensions with jokes, something which eventually went horribly wrong when he joked about Rachel's "friend," Mr. Hatty, being a devil. When Leah informed him of Rachel's death, the guilt and fear prompted him to talk his mom into moving back to her home state of New York. In Rochester, he became an agoraphobic recluse, feeling like everyone could tell he inadvertently killed a child and fearing devils lurking around any corner. With Leah now staying in the apartment building he inherited, he's slowly been facing his neurosis with her help.
Rebecca Sharpe
- Delilah's mother, who used to do secretary work at Nox's town hall. Following her husband's (and unknowingly, daughter's) death at the hands of what she suspected to be a devil, she moved away from Nox to Hemera. She also called into Zeke's show to share her experience, which caught the attention of the BSA. She soon began working for the BSA as a devil behaviorist, since she lacked the fear most experienced around them. She didn't tell Delilah what she really did for a living until Delilah's reversion. Since 2010, Delilah has been interning under Rebecca so that she can advocate for the humanity of the Cael.
Tobias "Toby" Collins
- Toby is a Cael devil who also evacuated to the east coast from Hemera County following the mass reversion. He and his mother moved to Webster, NY after briefly running into Sam and Delilah at a gas station. After that chance meeting, Toby later found out about the BSA not being far from where he lived, and decided to apply for a job there to support his financially struggling mom. He first met Delilah there, and they quickly became acquaintances.
