Luce
- Full Name: Lucifer
- Nicknames: Luce (human alias), The Hellstar (used by Legion), so-called Prince (used by Joshua)
- Birthday: Unclear, old as creation
- Height: 10ft (305cm)
- Classification: Goetic Devil
- Pronouns: he/He/it
- Orientation: Beyond human comprehension
- History: Lucifer's grudge against humanity began at the dawn of creation. He felt creating humans was a mistake, and would only ruin what could've been a paradise for The Lord's prior creations: the angels. This dissent resulted in a catastrophic fight with head Archangel Michael, which sent Lucifer and the other rebelling angels down to Hell. After tempting Eve and permanently tainting humans, Hell went from their kingdom to their prison.
However, neither Lucifer nor any of the other Princes of Hell would take this lying down. The Lord was aware of this, and came up with a distraction that could allow His Son an opening to absolve the Original Sin. Lucifer was promised there would one day be an apocalypse which would free him and all the other demons from Hell, allowing them to roam Earth once more.
Lucifer took this deal, and waited. And waited. And waited.
By the 1700s, Lucifer had waited too long, was disappointed by too many false alarms. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he began experimenting with the surrounding hellfire in pursuit of making his own creations.
In the 1800s, Lucifer finally succeeded, creating the first devil - a Tenebrae that was able to freely travel between Hell and Earth. Michael spotted the creature, and swiftly alerted The Lord of this. The Lord was unbothered, so Michael let it slide.
A few decades later, Michael was vindicated when a Bestian killed a priest to leave a message: Hell's Legion now outnumbered Heaven's forces. Seeing how crude the devils looked compared to The Lord's creations, Michael assumed he could easily slaughter all of Luce's new creatures single-handedly. Michael was mistaken. Arriving at the small church where the priest was slain, he was overwhelmed and imprisoned in a pocket dimension below the structure.
Using this new pocket dimension and its connection to Earth, Lucifer was finally able to escape Hell and roam Earth. Unfortunately, the church could only allow one demon of Lucifer's prowess to cross over, meaning his subjects were still trapped. Now able to interact with and corrupt humans directly, Lucifer began going by the human name Luce.
In the 1920s, while picking off various politicians in an attempt to spark World War II, Luce discovered a new entity. An entity that was created by neither himself nor The Lord. This creature also relished in human suffering, using pain as a food source. The creature, called Cairyx, quickly realized they had a mutual interest, and became a tentative ally of Luce's.
Following World War II failing to become an apocalyptic event, Luce began to contemplate using his devil to make an Antichrist, especially after seeing how easily Cairyx could take a human form. After several failed attempts at humanoid devils, Cairyx offered a way to speed up the process. In the early 1980s, Cairyx lured one of his own kind into the Nightmare Sand Pit, only to cast them into the pit of hellfire. Luce, also wanting to speed up the process, re-used his failed experiments, burning them alive the flames so they could absorb the slain alien's DNA, and thus, its advanced shapeshifting. These new devils were scattered across southeastern Iowa in the early 90s, taking the places of human children so they could blend in.
When one of these devil children began actively seeking out his own kind, fueled by his anger and loneliness, Luce knew he had his antichrist.
- Personality: Power-hungry, impatient, vengeful, arrogant
- Trivia:
- Luce cannot shapeshift, but he can mimic countless voices, which is how he usually speaks with humans to get them to do his bidding.
- Though his mouth is usually hidden, once revealed it takes up half his face, and has 6 rows of teeth and a barbed, forked tongue.
- Luce used to look like an angel very similar to Michael, though his flames burned silver-gold instead of red. He was cursed with the monstrous form he currently has after his imprisonment in Hell.
- Contrary to popular belief, Luce can't stand rock or hip-hop, and the only human music he ever appreciated was baroque classical music.
- Luce only started wearing his suit in the early 1900s once he figured out why humans wore clothes.
- Despite his hateful nature, he feels genuine comradery with his fellow fallen angels and Hell Princes. He barely tolerates Cairyx.
- His favorite color is bright red-orange.
