Here is where we'll be documenting our field research into the goings-on of Las Piedras, from visiting the anomaly hot spots of Doran's Peak and Serpent's Cove, to keeping an eye on the machinations of AAH! Should be updating a bit more regularly now that Covid isn't as big of a thing here.
Decided to have a nose around the compound again. I'm still a little paranoid that they're gonna start destroying some important shit now that our anonymous benefactor is out gathering the evidence.
Luckily, today the place was abandoned. It's been a while since I've actually poked around the inside of the building. The thing's been abandoned since last year, no one bothers with locking the doors anymore. Got to just waltz right in there.
Somehow it was both more and less run-down than I'd expected it to be. The power was still on, and I didn't feel the need to get my mask out due to mold or anything. However, everything was absolutely caked in dust and cobwebs. The fountain in the courtyard also stopped running. That was about the only thing that smelled funky.
As expected, the library was fully emptied out. Then again, I imagine some of their propaganda will be making its way online once they assume the allegation storm has passed. With a story that big, it's gonna be a hot minute.
Though there was still power running to the building, I decided to take the stairs to the underground levels. Though I never knew my mom, if I did I imagine she wouldn't have raised no bitch.
There was definitely a lot more wear and tear down there (bars lol). Those ugly ass fluorescent lights were flickering like crazy, and it seems like all the dorms have gone dark. Shame; I was kinda hoping I could poke around my old room for nostalgia's sake. None of that was my real destination though. What I was mainly concerned about was the labs.
To my relief, the place looked like it hadn't been touched in at least a decade. Everything covered in dust, with a moldy smell coming from behind the door. Through the glass of the door, I even saw one of those big-ass orb weaver spiders. Looks like our anonymous benefactor will have the lion's share of AAH's research, assuming she's not afraid of spiders.
Had to dodge some night watch fuckers on my way back to Velero, but overall a blissfully uneventful outing.
